Front Yard Mythology is a presentation of shiny, colorful, and crude bio-morphic and geo-morphic ceramic sculptures. The artwork was made out of an interest in storytelling and magic. Within the collection of ceramic objects, there are sculptures that have the appearance of cartoon marine life, burnt and mutilated trees, bizarre and glittering stones, and crude depictions of dogs. The relationships between these objects entice mind-play and encourage personal storytelling. As individual objects, the sculptures were made with specific meditative notions, such as, "it sure is funny that our minds intuitively perceive faces and body parts when we look at rocks or trees or clumps of dirt." While this quandary can be "scienced" away, these objects clearly prefer it "magicked" away. There are numerous avenues of entry into this artwork, and you are invited!
