“Ascend: Data/Physical” is an immersive space with audiovisual and performance works that reflect on the process of a sexual assault, its effect on the body and the healing process that follows.
The project exists in two parts: Data Collection: a simulation of the process and a record of the heart’s reaction through data collection (ie heart monitors, amplified stethoscopes). Physical Representation: using the data to create a machine that will physically manifests the heartbeat patterns as paint that covers the body.
The proposed project will culminate in an event with:
Data Collection (audio/video installations)
Physical Representation (performance)
